Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals provide intensive rehabilitation services using an interdisciplinary team approach in a hospital environment. Admission to an inpatient rehabilitation hospital is appropriate for patients with complex nursing, medical management, and rehabilitative needs.  Patients receive focused care from an interdisciplinary team whose goal is to maximize their functional potential allowing them to return to the community. 

Care is supervised by physicians specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation services.  The interdisciplinary team includes physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation nursing, and speech therapy.
