Chief Executive Officer - POSITION DESCRIPTION

The role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to provide leadership which ensures the hospital's clinical, financial and overall operating performance. The CEO is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the hospital, ensuring the hospital staff provides exceptional quality care and a positive patient experience. The CEO ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations and creates an environment that enables the hospital to meet or exceed its goals by holding staff accountable to performance and creating a culture of teamwork and growth. Minimum travel will be required.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provides a system of oversight, which clearly identifies deviations from plans and budgets, assures periodic comparison of performance and/or results against established standards for objectives; and assures corrective actions for actual results deviation from budget
  • Attracts and retains physicians and collaborates with medical staff to establish streamlined admitting and referral processes fostering the highest level of rehab care.
  • Exhibits strong communication, presentation and listening skills to ensure facility-wide collaboration and coordination, especially with physicians, employees and the community.
  • Building and leveraging the expertise and skills of strategic alliances both inside and outside the organization to create business opportunities and execute business strategies.
  • Takes a proactive approach to managed care, healthcare reform and related issues. Keeps abreast of new legislative information that impacts inpatient rehabilitation facilities
  • Maintains the hospital's compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Participates in and represents the hospital in professional, civic and service organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, Health Administration or another related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience in a hospital leadership role

DIRECTOR OF QUALITY - POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Quality is a member of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team and has oversight and responsibility for all aspects of the quality/risk management function and patient safety-related activities within the Hospital. The Director of Quality oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and the Hospital’s policies and procedures. The Director of Quality also has oversight of Infection Control and Employee Health.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSN with 3 years experience required or ADN with 5 years experience required

  • CPHQ required; must obtain with 2 years

  • Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted) required

  • Infection Prevention experience preferred.

  • 5 or more years of experience in an inpatient hospital quality/risk role

  • Quality and Risk Management experience including primary responsibility for performance improvement activities, regulatory compliance, infection control, employee health, leadership, and risk management activities

CHIEF NURSING OFFICER - POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a member of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department while providing leadership, guidance, and direction to all Nursing staff. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility and has accountability to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The CNO represents nursing concerns on the governing board and at medical staff leadership meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted) required.
  • Current BLS certification essential; ACLS preferred.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related OR a written plan to obtain such qualifications approved by the Corporate CNO and the hospital CEO, unless a higher degree is required by the state.
  • Five or more years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting essential.
• Two or more years of recent (within the last five years) nursing management experience, including responsibilities such as 24-hour accountability, FTE management; policy, procedure and budgetary oversight; and conduction of disciplinary action required

MEDICAL DIRECTOR - Postition Description

The Medical Director position is an Independent Contractor role and will collaborate with the hospital CEO, entire clinical team and medical staff to provide medical direction and patient care in conformance with the facility’s policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and hospital accreditation.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Define, establish, and direct clinical care teams, process improvement efforts, and program development.

  • Ensure extraordinary patient care and experience and optimal caregiver engagement.

  • Participate in physician, APC, nursing, and therapy recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Work collaboratively with all caregivers to build a truly interdisciplinary approach to care delivery.

  • Lead in the process of building relationships, inviting feedback, identifying opportunities, and engaging each member of the team in improving hospital culture and performance.


Qualifications:

  • Doctor of medicine or osteopathy, duly licensed and registered to practice medicine, and is in good standing under the laws of the state.

  • Certified and maintains board certification in his/her specialty areas by a nationallyrecognized board.

  • Competed a 1-year hospital internship or had at least 2 years of training or experience in the medical management of inpatients requiring rehabilitation services.

  • Provides 32 or more hours a week of combined administrative and patient care hours.

CHIEF THERAPY OFFICER - Postition Description

The Chief Therapy Officer (CTO) will provide overall operations of the therapy department, including high quality, cost-effective delivery of patient care, management of therapy personnel, and development and implementation of approved department projects and goals. The position also ensures the department's adherence to regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures.

Essential Functions include:

  • Maintain and implement therapy policies and procedures that conform to current standards of therapy practice and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Direct the functions of the therapy department in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Oversee therapy department staffing, retention, and development and participates in coaching, discipline, and performance evaluations. Provide education, direction, and mentorship of the therapy team's function, purpose, and goals.

  • Monitor department expenses on the designated schedule. Work with the management staff of all third party payers on problems, solutions, and new programs.

  • Lead in the process of building relationships, inviting feedback, identifying opportunities, and engaging each member of the team in improving hospital culture and performance.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and is actively involved in the performance improvement process, including data collection and analysis, and process improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.
  • Collaborate with the interdepartmental team to integrate therapy services with the total patient's health care plan. Participate in all admission decisions and monitors patient outcomes.
  • Assist with direct patient care therapy responsibilities during high flow work times.
  • .Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assess the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Comply with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.


Minimum Job Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Three years' experience in a hospital therapy management position required.


Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation

  • Current license as Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Occupational Therapist required.

  • Current CPR certification required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and adherence to current therapy theory and practice and infection prevention standards.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
